Welcome to Is This Available? by Dana and Maria, our weekly blast about something we find on Facebook Marketplace.
New York, New York
Forget everything and go to Sojo Spa Club on a Tuesday? Not the worst idea we’ve ever had.
Instead of our typical news-tues (newsletter Tuesday) Maria and I had a we-day. We waded in pools, stepped on rocks, jumped from sauna to sauna, were pummeled by jets, found multiple places to sleep, and of course, eavesdropped on hot convos in the hot tub. We were barefoot all day. It was amazing. We’re glowing.
The experience raises the question: how can I bring all of that (Sojo Spa Club vibes) to all of this (my small apartment with potential in Brooklyn). Here are my quick-FB edit suggestions:
Cedar wood: Sojo Spa Club (SSC) is rich with grains but cedar is their king. Buy some of these off of George in Astoria and the natural antibacterial oils of the wood might tranquilize your body and mind.
Log bench: If cedar’s not for you consider pine with this log bench.
Clay pebbles: Use in a succulent pot or heat them up in a sock? Lay them on the ground? Bingo. Hot stone ganbanyoku sauna.
High pressure water jet: We are all one-click-away from bringing the “ooooh” and “ahhhhhh” factor right to our kitchens.
Milk glass ceiling light: Milk glass. Nothing says money buys happiness quite like milk glass.
Floor seat and pillow: This is where I laid down for what’s right and zonked out.
I’m now on a mission to find a way to do that (lounge as close to the ground as possible without going outside) at home. This one’s a bit too criss-cross-apple-sauce for the job but I like that it could fit under the bed.
NYC view: If you hang this triptych above your TV and put this video on loop below, your guests will stay allllllllll day.
So, instead of mimicking the masses and asking “How can I avoid New Jersey?” join the bandwagon and demand “How can I bring New Jersey home with me?”
Maria’s miss of the week: In my home spa I’d like to channel my inner cow. I see myself turning this lamp on, sitting down with some nice grass to chew on (heavily massaged kale) and letting out a long and guttural mooooooo.
