Welcome to Is This Available? by Dana and Maria, our weekly blast about something we find on Facebook Marketplace.
New York, New York
This playground slide went up on FBMP last week.
Someone named Matt Del posted it. I rolled my eyes and bookmarked it immediately. 5 days later it was gone. Begging the question, “who would eat that up?” Del, who from what I can tell isn’t a city or park employee, didn’t get back to me so I conducted some independent research.
My conclusion is that Jimmy Fallon was involved.
As a grade-A example of lights on nobody's home, it makes sense that Fallon would have a google alert for “slides for sale, NYC”. Yes his taste is an expression of his personality, but I don’t like that he’s expressing “Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!” He’s dangerous.
I don’t reaaaaaaally want to add “being mean to celebrities in a newsletter” to my list of things to atone for next year so I’ll stop while I’m ahead and go back to investigating whether or not it’s legal to sell public playground property on FBMP.
Maria’s miss of the week: I loved her and I lost :(
